When you think of Thanksgiving desserts, pumpkin pie probably comes to mind. But apparently, not everyone is sticking with tradition! New data from DoorDash reveals the most popular desserts ordered for Thanksgiving, and pumpkin pie didn’t even crack the top three!
According to DoorDash’s 2025 holiday ordering data, chocolate cake took the top spot, followed by apple pie and cheesecake. Pumpkin pie came in fourth, while pound cake rounded out the top five. Interestingly, Thanksgiving Eve was DoorDash’s busiest grocery shopping day of the entire year, proving plenty of Americans were scrambling to get everything ready at the last minute. And here in South Carolina, vanilla cake was a standout choice, so apparently some of us are giving pumpkin pie the holiday off!
