SEASON OF GIVING: Salvation Army of Cape Fear launches 2026 Angel Tree program

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – It is the season of giving, and the Salvation Army is kicking off its annual Angel Tree initiative.

The program connects community members with local children, known as “angels,” who have submitted specific wish lists that include necessities like coats and shoes, along with toys and games.

How to participate:

• Adopt an angel: Sign up to receive a child’s first name, age, and personalized wish list.
• Shop: Purchase new items requested by the child.
• Drop off: Return all donations unwrapped to the specified location.

The Salvation Army of Cape Fear Angel Tree Kickoff is scheduled for Nov. 6 at noon in the Spectrum Store/Reeds Jewelers Section of Independence Mall.
